Hi,
I think it is fairly low hanging fruit to improve the dictation a bit, to recognize user contacts + user dict entries. I'll give it a go in the next release.
Other outstanding issues with dictation are mainly that it does not know all words, especially names that will not appear in any dictionary. For example "MBraille" ends up with many different forms, some of which I catch explicitly, but no means all. Usually the dictation uses a word it knows, meaning it is a valid word and the spell check will not catch it. Another issue is, that sometimes it picks up a word that sounds the same, but is written differently and has a different meaning (homophones). This is tricky for those who cannot see the word, you'd need to preview by character unless there is a subtle difference in pronunciation. For example, peek, peak, pique. Also the dictation faithfully adds the filler words in spoken speech, uh, oh, repetitions etc.
Good thing is that all of this is fixable by a post dictation pass with a local AI which could run on your phone. It is a fair bit of work though, and to have it support all languages that MBraille supports is even more work. So this more complete fix is not in scope for now I'm afraid.

Hello Harri. I became very enthusiastic withthe use of your dictation system. It is very smart at writing punctuations, and it’s automatic translation feature which I discovered by accident he’s very handy.
I know you said you could not improve it anymore for the moment, But I have a request. Would it be possible to add a custom dictionary to add exotic names that the dictation system does not transcribe well, names like yours or mine… I was hoping dictation could use MBraille‘s custom dictionary, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
That feature would be super cool if you could.
Cheers,
JPR
