Hi Thomas, I'm sure would be possible, even relatively simple to do, if I understood you correctly. Although I don't have access to a braille display, but a regular PC bluetooth keyboard I have, which I could test pairing with my phone or tablet and VoiceOver/Talkback. I added this in my todo, together with the existing item for one handed braille input. Ever since MBraille got released back in 2013 I really saw a potential for using some of the powerful dot-commands from a regular Braille display, or perhaps from a Bluetooth keyboard. For years I never opened message, phone or Safari when I wanted to either send a message, dial phone number or open a website/search for something. All of this was done through mbraille's interface. What I really would want to see is a very simple structure where the user can type in text either from a Braille display or a keyboard into a multiline text field. There should be a Done/OK button and a Cancel button at the top of the screen. This would allow the user to type or paste text into the field, even execute the older dot commands. So I could type a message and end it by: .sms John When the OK button is pressed MBraille should receive the content from the edit field, and performe the command, as if the content was done via MBraille itself. I know we on iOS has apps like Drafts, where actions and shortcuts can be run directly from the app, but I would really use this myself in many different cases: If I want to dial someone, just open MBraille, enter the number via my display and get the call going just via MBraille.
If I want to message someone just open MBraille, type the message and send it via the .sms command.
Same for opening websites/searching for informations as well. I understand why focus is on Braille from the screen, but there are people who really could benefit of such approach. Harri, do you think this is possible to implement at all?
