Hi Thomas,

The English help is online at https://mpaja.com/mbraille/en/help_en.html
I will put other languages there as well once the translations are done.

That said, it does not have anything about the hardware kb mode in the help yet,
the change-log entry is all there is for now.

But it is quite simple, if you know MBraille, you should be able to use it.
It has the multiline text field you asked, and command is given by starting a line with a period, like legacy mbraille.

.help commands

announces the available commands in the kb mode.
You can open and save files, send messages, etc.
I only tested it with talkback and bluetooth keyboard.
Command is executed immediately with newline/enter, no need to
move to any button.

If it turns out to be popular, I can further improve it, mainly thinking of spelling and alias support here.

For translations, I'm relying on AI tools, which have gotten remarkably good.
That said, I'm sure some human tuning may be required for some languages, but I'm not asking for any help now it that front, later when the app is stable.

Best regards,
Harri

Hi Harri!

That sounds very nice. Can you tell a bit more about the hardware kb mode? If translation of help is needed, please let me know... How can I read the English help without changing the entire language of the app?

Best regards Thomas

Hi,

This is soon coming your way.  A rather big release, I should have probably broken it to a few smaller releases.

Now there is the hardware kb mode Thomas was asking for.  I went maybe a bit further than what he was asking for, to be seen how it worked out.

Known issues (TODO):

  • Cloud sync needs work.
  • Help translations are behind
  • One handed braille mode implementation
  • Optimization pass to identify potential bottlenecks for slow performance
  • and few more things...

Best regards,
Harri
