Hi, This fixes some reported issues, some actually being small new features. Maybe one more release through Firebase, the moving to test releases directly from Apple and Google. That will then replace the legacy mbraille. Best regards, Harri
Hi, A few discoveries. UEB: The setting for switching UEB on and off in the settings menu has no effect for me. However: lang ueb or lang en successfully switches braille tables, even though that change is not reflected on settings screen. Biggest concern: That bug where MBraille does not read out words as they are written intermittently is still around. Sometimes it hides away for a few minutes and I think it's gone. But it always reappears. At present, it's about a word every 2 or 3 sentences. I swipe right, the word is entered, but not spoken. I have my phone on silent mode, so I do not think it's as simple as the keyboard clicks interrupting voiceover. It occurs to me now to try fully turning the clicks off in settings, to see if that improves things. Still not getting the first of two words spoken when using multi-word contractions in grade 2. Thanks for the vibrate on misspelled word feature. That is nice to have. Keith On 2026-03-23 3:23 p.m., Harri Pasanen via MBraille-Test wrote:

My concern is that UEB is not working correctly. Even though I have UEB set in settings, if I type a grade 2 contraction that is no longer used in UEB, it expands it anyway. It should not do that. If I type dots2,3,6 then the word walk with no space before walk, and with UEB on, it should come out as "!walk", but instead it comes out as "to walk." If you don't have punctuation on, that was exclamation point walk. Thanks, Richard, "It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation." Thanks Keith, I will do that, I never use the old grade 2. But, this command should not be necessary, the settings should do this, so I hope Harri can fix this little bug. Grade 2 refers to the old EBAE. UEB contracted is different and does not have any multiword contractions that I can think of. That was one of the changes in UEB. Hi, they do not exist in UEB, but they do exist in grade 2 braille. lang en (my current workaround to disable UEB) The most common example would be the word to In grade 2 braille you put dots 234 at the beginning of the word and it expands to "to " So "{dots234}my" would expand to "to my" Legacy MBraille reads this out properly upon swipe right. Beta only would say "my" even though "to my" is inserted in the buffer. In other news, I have turned off keyboard clicks in settings. thus far, I have yet to encounter the bug where MBraille doesn't read out a word on entry. so maybe that's a fix. Or maybe luck. Let me know if I can help clarify things more on the grade 2 thing. Keith On 2026-03-24 4:32 p.m., Harri Pasanen via MBraille-Test wrote:

Other multiword exaples from Grade 2, Also Known As, EBAE, are (with)(the) if you write the contraction for with, immediately followed by the contraction for the, it separates the two words. In UEB you cannot do any of those multiword contractions. Richard, "It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation."
