iOS beta version requires developer mode enable
Hi Harri, Just installedMBraille beta to the iPhone and received an error message that I needed to enable the developer mode in order to use the app. How can this be resolved, so I can begin testing. Thanks. Eileen Sent from my iPhone

Hi! I just sent Harri a message with my findings: Even if you get developer mode turned on under settings, privacy and security the app will not work, I think Harri is on the case. We will just wait for the next test build. :) Best regards Thomas Sendt fra min Macbook Pro via Apple mail

Hi Eileen, This developer mode requirement was a surprise to me and I did not catch is as my phone was already in developer mode. Since the release of iOS 16, Apple requires Developer Mode to be enabled for apps installed via Ad Hoc distribution or directly from Xcode. This is a security measure designed to protect users from inadvertently installing potentially harmful software through "sideloading" techniques. Apple introduced Developer Mode to reduce "attack vectors" exposed by developer-only functionality. Before this, anyone with a link could install an Ad Hoc build, which malicious actors occasionally exploited. Now, the user must explicitly opt-in through a multi-step process that includes a device restart and passcode confirmation. To turn on developer mode: Navigate to Settings: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security. Toggle the Switch: Scroll to the bottom and tap Developer Mode. Restart: Toggle the switch On. The device will prompt for a Restart. Confirm: After the restart, unlock the device. A system alert will appear asking to "Turn On Developer Mode?" Tap Turn On and enter the device passcode. Android has a similar requirement, but one does not need to jump through as many hoops to enable it, it is a simple popup at install time if I recall correctly.
