Problem with MBraille

After installing the regul≈ MBraille, and it working at first, it now no longer works. It asks to initialize the dots, and when that is done, I cannot type at all. I deleted and downloaded it again, and the same problem. There is also no place to pick your braille code. Input settings do not have a braille code option, and neither does the keyboard settings. Sight City visit

MBraille making it to various stores

Hi everybody, The official version for iOS has now been released, no sure how quickly it makes its way. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mbraille/id639199558 The free Braille learning app for windows, MBraille Desktop is also now publicly available. https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9pc8z5m4vnz1 Android version is still on its way, I'm having a daily back and forth discussion with Android review team, so not long anymore I hope. Thanks to everyone for providing testing feedback. I will now take a short break in development, but I do have many things in my todo list for new features. Test subscriptions, restore purchase

Hi all, Regarding the subscriptions in the test versions. The subscriptions and restore purchase in Testflight and Google Playstore work against a sandbox, not a real store. For Apple, the subscriptions elapse faster than the wallclock time, both monthly and yearly subscription will expire in 24 hours, if I read the Apple docs correctly. For Google, the time goes faster, one month goes in about 5 minutes and one year in about 30 minutes. Restore purchase did not give any feedback, which was clearly a bug. So one more test version, I reworked the settings a bit to avoid one hop when going to subscription screen from settings. I also made it more explicit what subscription is in effect. Text selection bug when selecting lines/paragraphs

Hi Harri! Sorry, I know this is late in testing, but I recently discovered the following My goal was to select a few lines of text. So, I used the following for testing: Text to use: Hello world. This is a test. Notice, that there are a newline between the two sentences. I hold dots 13 down and swiped left to bring the cursor to the start of the text buffer. Then I changed the preview mode to line. I hold down dots 2 and 3 to select text and swiped right: Observed: MBraille said: This is a test Expected: MBraille said: Hello world. I could confirm the selection by swiping up with two fingers while holding dots 23 down. Now, I wanted to select the next line: This is a test. This was not possible. Observed: When I swiped right while holding dots 23 down, MBraille repeated: This is a test. Not selected. This might also be the case for paragraphs. Can this be fixed before going to App Store? Many of you may get the below twice as I'm starting to spread the word, sorry about that.Hi everyone, Since 2013, I’ve worked to make MBraille a tool that is truly useful in everyday life for braille users. Over the years, many of you have shared feedback, ideas, bug reports, and encouragement, and MBraille would not be what it is today without that support. I’m very grateful for this community and for everyone who has been part of the journey. As the app has grown and platforms have continued to change, it has become harder to maintain MBraille under the old one-time purchase model. To help keep the project going, I’m moving to a subscription model with a one-week free trial. My hope is that this will make it easier for new users and students to try MBraille, while also giving me a more stable way to support ongoing development and updates. Important for current users: if you have already paid for the full version in the past, your purchase will continue to be honored permanently. If you ever need to reinstall the app, just tap Restore Purchases. What’s new in MBraille 26? I’ve been working on a number of features that many of you have asked for: * Android version: The full MBraille experience, including TalkBack compatibility, is now available on Android. * Voice dictation: You can now dictate notes and commands using your voice. * AI chat with Gemini: MBraille now includes AI chat powered by Gemini, so you can ask questions, explore ideas, and get writing help directly in the app. * Bookmarks: There is a new bookmarking system that makes it easy to drop and jump between bookmarks in your files using hold-and-swipe gestures. * Improved aliases: You can now bind aliases to gestures and commands, or both. * Revamped help documentation: I completely rebuilt the help system. The new documentation is much clearer, separates iOS and Android instructions, and properly explains the more advanced hold-and-swipe editing patterns. * Third-party iOS keyboard removed: I’ve removed the third-party keyboard version for iOS, since Apple’s built-in Braille Screen Input already covers that use case well. Generic question on Braille input on phones

Hi there, An idle idea I had years ago, but never pursued it further: Would you be interested in a screen protector that would have small indents for braille dots? So a piece of plastic you would stick on your phone screen, over an existing protector if you have one. It would have 3 indented lines on both sides to correspond to dots 1,2,3 and 4,5,6 It would not interfere with other operation of the phone, other than that you would feel the texture of the dots when swiping. mbraille dictation sensitivity setting"

Hello Harry. I can't remember for the life of me if I've already asked this question. Dictation works great and much better than Siri's native dictation. But I wonder if it would be possible to give it. a user setting, I've often noticed that dictation was adding words to what I said, especially at the end of dictation. Of course, sensitivity depends if you are in a quiet place or a noisy one, so there's no ideal setting. Anyway, forgive me if I already asked this. dictation suggestion

Hello Harri. I have a small suggestion for the dictation command, which would make it easier to invoke. Why not replace the record command by the letters rec, which would be much shorter and still understandable by most users. I know I can do this myself by creating a command alias, but I thought I would suggest this to you anyway if you like it.
