Hi, FYI, the test builds from AppStore and Play Store will be numbered 26.0.x The first official public release will be 26.1.0 Note for Android testers, you will first see a subscription screen with prices. You can subscribe, you will see a "Test card" as payment option, and you will not be charged. I'm not yet sure how this will show up for Apple AppStore, to be seen. Best regards, Harri

Goto command cannot find added apps

Hi Harri! I have just tried to use goto-command along with Todoist. Tested only from Textbuffer, but I suppose the result wouldn't be different in the MBraille keyboard. I typed: .goto Todoist Result: MBraille said no app matched. I tried: .goto Todoist Result: Same as above. Can I share logs from MBraille that can show you anything? Newbie questions

Hello list⠐! I am new to mbraille. I am ann-kathrin from Germany. Well, the idea of a braille overlay to use your phone completely in braille is basically a phantastic idea, but there are still a lot of work to do. M first of all i am an android user, using jieshuo instead o f talkback. When writing mails i need to select the mail program but | i like using it with screen away from me. | i cannot interact with any alerts then. Is there a trick? Second: on android it seems to very much hate whatsapp groups. I give it the name in the command and it tells me phone number for cozy.girls.lounge not found. Is there a way out? Hi, For Android testers, first try: https://play.google.com/apps/internaltest/4701631759796455338 When you click the link, you must be signed into your Android device and the Google Play Store using the exact email address you authorized. After you click the link to opt into the testing program, you will be given a prompt to download the app directly from the Play Store Let me know how it goes and if you face any hurdles installing this. v0.9.34 and another round

Hi, This one focuses just on making the external keyboard mode work better on iOS. On Android it was already good at least based on my brief testing. I'm still not sure if iOS VoiceOver focus lands at the text field, despite multiple attempts at this. At the moment I don't have external bluetooth keyboard at hand, so I cannot test that myself thoroughly. Best regards, Harri

v0.9.33 one more round

Hi everybody, Before transferring to AppStore/PlayStore testing, one more round. This one attempts to make settings behave with VoiceOver and TalkBack. The issue appeared to surface with scrolling, so I reorganized settings so that no scrolling is required. Also tuned the external braille keyboard mode. And then there is: - set hold [threshold-in-ms] command to adjust the time required for a hold, default is 300 ms. This is an experimental feature to see if accidental holds are caused by this. I forgot to add the last one to changelog before the build, but it will be there in the next build. Best regards, Harri

Textbuffer and external Braille display

Hi Harri! I have tested MBraille with my external braille display. Since the changes to the text buffer, I have had major problems writing and editing text. It appears that the text buffer input field is still in English. If I write quickly, letters and line breaks are often not registered as they were previously. When editing text, and especially when deleting text, the cursor jumps. Can you check if there might be some attributes of the text field that could cause inappropriate behavior regarding accessibility? I do not know how to submit bug reports for these errors, as they are intermittent and there is no pattern for reproducing them. Best regards Thomas. 0.9.29: Notes on different areas

Hi Harri! Here are a few notes/observations I have collected since 0.9.28 and 0.9.29. Hope some of this is useful. Textbuffer When text buffer is activated for the first time: Focus is not moved to the text field, but stays on the unlabeled button which closes the text buffer I have to swipe to the text field to make sure focus is in the right place. This is especially important for Braille display users since they aren't sure that the cursor is vissible on the screen, so they have to make a few gestures/keypresses to be able to entering Braille into the field and follow their typing. goto command can not find apps on device. I have an app on my device named: Smartthings from Samsung. If I type: goto smartthings followed by a newline, MBraille returns app not found. Why can't MBraille find the app, if it doesn't look in a premade list of apps? This is true for both braille editor and external keyboard mode. Text buffer: Audio ducking is not suspended As noticed in another thread about audio ducking I found a workaround for this behaviour. This is however not working when using external keyboard mode. Braille editor: When the editor is empty hold dot 4 and swipe up/down will return the last commands even if command mode isn't active. Commands can also be executed, like: sms john in an empty buffer will allow an empty message to be created. This is not true, if there is any text in the editor. Request: Can apps like Todoist be supported in a future version? Todoist should have a good acccessibility rank both on iOS and Android. I use Todoist for almost anything, I have started to make notes for MBraille observations as of lately. I have ben in contact with their support, and they are really interested in accessibility, also if they by accident breaks something. Editor: Promp for saving if a file is open This was drawn to my attention, when I looked for adding aliases to alias.mb I opened the alias.mb via the open command. I entered a few lines, and wanted to close the file. MBraille closed the file and my edits were lost. I wonder if a check can be made, so MBraille will Promt: Save changes to "filename"? Yes, no? Future feature request: Command to switch between keyboard modes This might almost never be used, but I would really like for a setting that allows me to switch between braille input on screen and external keyboard mode. Muy first thought was trying to make MBraille smart enough, so it would switch mode if it detected input from an external device, but I think that is almost impossible to program. Text buffer: The label/help text for the edit field is repeated when reading the text. It would be fine, if the text for the edit field itself was: Type text here. Notes on generated help file: There are a few places where formatting is escaped. For example under the paragraph: Multiple lines in aliases There is a list, but the blank line before the 1. is missing (I guess), and therefor the list is treated as regular text. an issue with the mail command

Hi. I have an issue with the mail command. Could every one who wishes to help, try the following command line: mail john just a test exactly as it is written, and tell me what happens when this command is executed? I expect to have a choice between all my contacts with the name John, and the subject to be just a test, but only the word test is in my subject. I also tried putting my subject between quotes. It helps a bit as the subject line is now as it should be but mbraille email addresses still do not appear in my contact choice. What am I doing wrong?
