Dear Harri, I would like to share my feedback and a few suggestions regarding the MBraille application based on the recent beta testing. Bug Reports: 1. AI Feature and API Key Errors: While using the AI feature, the application frequently displays the following error message after entering a question: "The primary API key failed, trying backup key." Sometimes I also get a notification stating that it failed to get a response from Gemini. Interestingly, upon the second attempt (resending the request), the answer arrives successfully after a short period. 2. Cloud Storage Synchronization (OneDrive): - If I delete the "teszt.txt" file from the MBraille folder within my local files, it does not get deleted automatically from the OneDrive folder. - Upon startup, the app fails to connect properly to the cloud storage; instead, the payment options screen pops up. - When triggering a manual sync, the application attempts to redownload the previously deleted "teszt.txt" file (provided I approve it). This synchronization issue also happens the other way around. 3. Focus Loss on Incoming Notifications: It is a frequent occurrence that while working in the Braille editor, an incoming email (e.g., in the Gmail app) causes MBraille to suddenly switch focus to Gmail. Because of this, the cursor focus is lost, and the text being typed is no longer entered into the Braille editor. Suggestions for Improvement: 1. Caps Lock Feature: Would it be possible to implement a Caps Lock function in the editor that triggers by double-pressing dots 4 and 6? This lock could remain active until a punctuation mark, a space, or a new line is typed. Additionally, an auto-capitalization feature for the beginning of sentences would be extremely helpful. 2. Status of the Desktop Version: I would also like to inquire about the current status of the desktop version's development. I have received many questions from users regarding this, and they would be very keen to use it. I would also be glad to showcase the application in detail in my podcast for promotional and distribution purposes. Thank you very much for your hard work, and I look forward to your reply! Greetings from Türkiye. Since my English is not sufficient, I am writing this message with the assistance of artificial intelligence. I wanted to mention this beforehand. I am a user of the main release version of MBraille and I do not use the beta version. However, I wanted to share some feedback as a main release user. When I want to call someone, send an SMS, or send a WhatsApp message using the MBraille command mode, if there are multiple contacts with the same first name or surname, MBraille automatically selects the first person and does not allow me to choose among the others by using left or right swipe gestures. For example, I have three contacts named Fatma A, Fatma B, and Fatma C in my contacts list. I want to send a message to Fatma C or call Fatma C. While in command mode, I enter the relevant command and type “WhatsApp Fatma”. MBraille directly announces that Fatma A has been selected and opens her chat window. It does not show the other contacts named Fatma and does not allow me to select them. Left and right swipe gestures do not work because it automatically selects Fatma A by itself. The same issue also occurs with contacts who have the same surname. For example, if I want to send a message to or call Can Kaya, Derya Kaya, or Murat Kaya, MBraille again selects the first contact in alphabetical order, which is Can Kaya. Are you experiencing this issue as well? In Türkiye, we generally save contacts with the first name followed by the surname, so I wanted to give examples in this format. Hi, Just a quick note on things I'm planning to work on next: - Need to fix the ai command, as someone "stole the key", is using it and I'm paying the bills for that usage. So until I get it fixed, the AI command main not work at all. - Some users have trouble initializing the keyboard. One should not need to do it often, as the keyboard layout is saved, and small deviations in finger positions are automatically adjusted for. Nevertheless, I will bring back the fixed away layout as an option. Those are the first priorities for me, but there are plenty of other development items left for me to work on once those are out of the way. Best regards, Harri

MBraille AI api key hacked, new version coming

Hi, Someone mentioned that MBraille AI no longer works. I checked and it seems someone has hacked MBraille stolen the API key, and then used the key on Google AI products that MBraille does not use, blowing my budget in one day. Once the monthly spend limit was reached in one day, it stopped working. I need to build a new version and add some security hardening. Let's see how long that takes. I've also fixed some bugs, like uppercasing accented characters which seems to be broken on iOS devices. Thanks to the vigilance of Turkish users who found this out. It took me a while to reproduce, as it only happened on iOS devices, not on desktop or Android. There is also first cut at supporting grade 2 braille for Hungarian. I'll do intermediate test release hopefully tomorrow. Best regards, Harri

Hi, Seems like Apple released an update very quickly this time. Two things: - someone mentioned that "whatapp contact" would still not work properly. Haven't checked myself yet. I tested it earlier though, so I wonder why it would not work now. - I reset all reviews, as most reviews were from 13 years ago and someone gave a 1 star review because they could not restore a purchase and could not find developer contact. I have a handful of things to fix for the next release, but I will be travelling over the weekend and have limited time next week, so let's see when I get around to working on those. Hi, # Version 26.2.1 ## Fixes - iOS restore purchases fix - iOS dot layout reset fix.On some devices the dot layout would spontaneously reset. - All mail addresses were not correctly recognized, if there was a subdomain, that would fail. - Improved announcements when in list selector. - Enable File sharing on iOS - Fix opening file as read-only I've never been able to reproduce the dot layout issue, if someone can, please do test it, Best regards, Harri

Hi, Another round: Reworked again the dot initialization, which keeps resetting on some iOS devices. I have never been able to reproduce this myself, so need to keep iterating until I get all clear from the affected users. Best regards, Harri

A new feature idea

Hi, I was thinking that one way to leverage AI would be to add auto-translation to mail command. So let's say I wanted to write an email in German, I could just add de: to front of the email address. Example: mail de:hans@mpaja.com and MBraille would take the mail body from text buffer, pass it through AI (Gemini) and past it to mail body in German. The MBraille buffer could be in any language, but the mail would be in German. It would enable correspondence with people having no common language. What do you think?
