Hi, Switched to Romanian input and every word got spelling mistake beep. I know there was no spelling support for this language, but there should not be spelling error sounds in this case. Thanks. Problem with UEB

I sent Harri feedback but wanted to include everyone. As I think Kieth had mentioned, setting MBraille beta to UEB contracted, still treats it like standard US grade 2. If I use one of the nine contractions that were dropped from UEB, like the "to" sign used without spaces before other words, instead of showing an exclamation point, which is what it should be in UEB, it expands it to the word "to" then a space, and the next word. I have not tested all nine contractions, but I would not be surprised if they behave similarly. Dial command can not handle prefix

Hi Harri! I noticed the following when trying to use the dial command In Denmark we can hide our caller ID by typing a prefix before the phone number. This is #31# followed by the number who we want to call. if I type this syntax into MBraille it gives an error, because the number cannot be found in contacts. In some cases I just want to place a call without lookup in contacts. Suggestion for a change to the mail command

Hi Harri and all testers! I found an interesting observation, which let to an idea for a change to the mail command. First the observation: The syntax for mail is: mail "Hello world" Thomas When I send the message I see "Hello world" with the quotes kept in the subject line in the Mail app. Can this be removed so the end result in Mail is: Hello world Then my idea: Can MBraille make use of the first line in the buffer, to be the subject title of the Mail? So if one typed: Hello world Hello MBraille buffer. This is a nice day. Regards Then execute the mail command with this syntax: mail thomas The end result would be Mail opens. The recipient is is Thomas The subject is Hello world The message body is the rest of the content of the MBraille buffer. This idea is used in apps like Drafts, and I find it very useful. MBraille and external keyboard mode v. 0.9.20

Hello Harri and others! When using the external keyboard method I notice a few things: * When the buffer is opened the help text is send to VoiceOver as a string. This means there is no way for a Braille reader to find this in an expected way. It would be better to show this text on the screen, rather than using send string to VoiceOver code. * When pasting from other apps some characters gets translated incorrectly. This I observed when I copied text via my Mac and the universal clipboard feature. Here characters like @ and " did come across, but MBraille could not process these as expected, so when I tried to exit the text with the .mail command it did not work since @ was shown in a wrong translation. I wonder if this is some issue with text encoding? Please, if possible force UTF-8 rather than ASCII! * When entering a command that gives an error please show a dialog instead of the speak to VoiceOver code. This makes it easier to read and navigate. I see this could be very hard to implement. * I tried to use the goto command typing: goto mail this opened Mail in a new message. I thought this would open the native Mail app in the inboxes window, where I was before I went into MBraille. Is this a bug or expected behaviour? * The close/cancel button has no label when navigating the screen with normal VoiceOver gestures. Can this be changed, so it feels more native iOS like? MBraille an fast typing a few observations

Hi Harri and other testers! I have used MBraille quite much since yesterday, where I got access to it with my new phone. When typing fast with VoiceOver running using Eloquence Reed and Danish contracted Braille I notice that MBraille makes quite a few mistakes after around 360 characters with no newlines in between. I have set my swipe sensitivity to 25 The way to fix this is to reset the layout, but I hope there can be some other way to get MBraille back to speed. I wonder if this is some kind of memory leak in MBraille or if it is the contraction engine that gets a hard job when following Harri, can we provide some kind of logs to you? I notice that if I change the language from settings to English, this does not change the Braille tabel. This is however indicated in the text in the Danish version of MBraille. Drafts bug and AI speech interrupt

Hi, I just did a test of the drafts command. It's not something I use much these days, but there was a time when I used it a fair bit. I typed a normal test sentence and got plus signs in place of spaces. What+if+I+could+do+something+here? The way that the Voiceover voice handles the AI responces being placed in the buffer is pretty rough. Speech is constantly being interrupted. So I hear little bits of words, but they're all cut off. Might be better if this could somehow be bypassed when people are not using self voicing mode. Maybe just a "Composing response" message, then the message could be read in full when it's inserted? On a positive note, I just started playing with those binding gestures. That's super slick. I have one set up to text my wife, and another to do a google search. Super neat! group text and mail command bugs

Hi, I see now that the sms command to multiple addresses is not working. I tried a group text and was pleased to see that MBraille prompted me for clarification on each of the names in my list that had other potential matches. However, when the message window opened, it was only addressed to the first contact in the list. Repeated the test with 2 contacts and no name conflicts for MBraille to sort. Same issue. It just messages the first person in the list. Also, it seems the mail command only grabs the first line of buffer for message body. Keith

latest version fixes / remaining bugs

Hi, Contact lookup with case sensitivity seems improved. It now defaults to mobile. Honestly, this is probably fine. One thing here is, I'm not sure how I would go about dialing a home number for the very few contacts that still have those, or sending a text to a work number. Personally, this will not impact my day to day use. I could see it being a problem for those who have contacts with many numbers. Maybe that's rare enough that it can be left. Maybe a fix is necessary. web command does not work. I'm not sure if it has in the past in these betas. Just tried web and .web and in both cases got unknown command I don't think UEB is working at all. Whether it is on or off it seems like I am getting grade 2 braille translation. type: s t a dot6 n Grade 2 should return: station UEB should return: staN Legacy MBraille works as expected. Current beta gives me Grade 2 regardless of setting. Multi word contractions in grade 2 braille still not being read. Type the following: dots235 walk With no space in between the dots 235 and the "walk". That expands to "to walk" in grade 2 braille. It expands correctly but MBraille only says "walk" A gesture for English users to toggle UEB on or off might be good to include. I suspect there might be a way to do it with the lang command? But it does not seem to be documented in the help file. I might try switching to this version for daily use now and see how things go. That bug with the two-word contractions not being spoken will probably be the biggest trouble spot for my own use case. Thanks for all the work, Keith
